If you've reached the Undying King, surely you've come across the Citadel Curse as well. Damage phases work the same as they did before, and when you finally punch through the remainder of his health bar, the Undying King should be dead for real. It is advised that you make your way to the platform high-up, as that should provide a solid vantage point for the final part of the Undying King boss fight. After his major rejuvenation phase, the Undying King is going to return with a fraction of his starting health bar, and you're going to have to dish out damage yet once more. Instead, use this downtime to heal, reload, and rearm, because you're not nearly done yet. While it might be tempting to unload all of your reserve ammunition and high-powered rounds into him while he's recovering - don't. True to his name, he won't stay down for long. ![]() Now, it's going to take a while, but eventually, you're going to take the Undying King down. He's going to heal there no matter what, so your best bet will always be to do the same, so that you're ready for the next phase of combat. We suggest using your consumables and taking down enemies while the Undying King makes his retreat to the big recharge platform. Be prepared to roll past him as he charges as that's the only sure-fire way for you to avoid taking excessive damage. The Chicago Typewriter is as good a weapon choice as any, and it should certainly be obvious by now that you want at least a few people with you when facing the Undying King.Īs you successfully progress through the Undying King's numerous damage phases, you'll notice that he'll grow increasingly more aggressive, and that he'll rely more heavily on his dual sickle melee attacks. This is easier said than done, of course, because the Undying King can summon not only additional Vyr reinforcements but also entire swarms of fast-moving monsters that you're going to want to deal with fast. Turrets deal a lot of damage, so try to take them down without being overly exposed. When the damage phase is up, the boss will summon more Vyr and two additional floating turret constructs. When all the Vyr are down, you're going to have a very brief window of opportunity to damage the Undying King. Ignore the Undying King until you manage to kill off the Vyr guardians, because you can't deal any damage to him while they're attacking you. Note that they will attack you soon as you trigger the boss encounter, and since they're fast and beefy, chances are that you'll get wounded right away. You'll notice that, at the start of the fight, the boss has four Vyr creatures nearby. Right off the bat, it should be obvious that the Undying King is no pushover. ![]()
